MTC Day 2

How are you feeling today (spiritually, mentally, & physically)? While we’re at it, what’s your ‘Trilogy Identity’?

“Feelings are the body’s reaction to the mind…they’re the language of the soul” ~Neale Donald Walsch

Fill in the blank:
People are ________?
Life is ________?
I AM ________?

(Thanks for the LIVE links below, Rich & Jairek)

As it says in a #ReallyGoodBook, “I AM that I AM”! So if you believe “when we focus on what we don’t want, we get what we focus on” and that “what we resist, persists”, then you’ll see why the above Q’s are SO important to me. And why I call them the #TrilogyIdentity (plus, like Deepak suggested, if words release bio-chemicals into our system, would you rather FLOW with serotonin, endorphin’s & dopamine, or have venom running through your veins?)

Welcome to Day 2 of ‘Make That Change in 4 days: The e (is for Empathy) Course’! (What did you come up with as your Trilogy Identity? Today mine is: people are loving, life is worth living & I AM a contemplative and a jock) πŸ˜‰

MAKE THAT CHANGE song time:
β™ͺOh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I’ve got this beautiful FEELING,
Everything’s going OUR wayβ™ͺ

(As much as I love singing that song everyday, I’m very aware that “everything’s going our way” is a strong belief that the author feels CONFIDENT (or certain about) vs a feeling…which leads us wonderfully into MTC Day 2)

NOW, smile for 22 seconds πŸ˜‰

…and put the kind of look you’d have on your face (& breathe the way you would) if you felt totally confident.

Part 2: FEELINGS

So yesterday in Part 1 (http://wp.me/P5dLI9-p) we discovered how to make a clear & objective observation by sharing either a direct quote (“When you said what you said”) or an observable behavior (“When you show up after the agreed time”)!

Today we add the 2nd Piece of the conflict resolution puzzle, and that is honoring how we FEEL when people behave in a way that we don’t (or do) like!

So I gave you Neale Donald Walsch’s take on what a FEELING is. Here’s mine:

“Besides also being called an emotion or a state, a FEELING is the word we give to the physical manifestation of our present moment values interpretation”

So what does my definition of FEELINGS mean?
Well, when we have a value that is (or isn’t) being honored in any given moment, energy is sent in the form of a feeling. So looking at it that way, if you think about times when our nutrients are depleted in our body, we FEEL hungry, right? Well, if there is no CIVIC (critical inner voice, inner critic) to get in our way, then the natural response is that we go look for food. Does that make sense?

Q: Looking at what you thought of yesterday (around someone’s behavior you didn’t like), how does it leave you feeling when that person does (or says) that thing?

Again, take your time, get some grub, jot down some feeling words…….Got it?

Ok, using yesterday’s example of “When you show up after the agreed time…”, now we’re going to add the words ‘I feel’ or ‘I felt’ (fill in the blank)!

Natural Feelings vs thoughts masquerading as feelings:

If a word is a descriptor of someone else’s behavior (abandoned, betrayed, disrespected, rejected, etc) it is not a natural feeling. It’s a thought masquerading as a feeling (MAF)!

Natural Feelings (HAPPY, sad, EXCITED, scared, GRATEFUL)

Thoughts MAF (guilt, shame, anger, ignored)

“Always follow the word ‘feel’ with an emotion (vs a ‘like/that’ metaphor)”…when we use the words ‘like/that’ after the word ‘feel’, not only is it a metaphor precursor, it’s a belief/thought…so delete that from your communications (comms) App and upload “I believe, I imagine I think that, IMHO, It seems like”

Plugging all that into our example, we get: “When you show up after the agreed time, I feel frustrated (hurt, irritated, agitated, distressed)”

Today’s MAKE THAT CHANGE takeaway:

(1) Feelings are the language of the soul.
(2) Natural feelings are different than thoughts masquerading as feelings.
(3) Our values/needs send out energy in the form of feelings.
(4) Tony uses the word ‘grub’ πŸ˜‰

“Follow your intuition (that guiding energy-source emanating from love & abundance), but don’t be led by your outuition (the projection of pre-judgement coming from scarcity & fear)” ~SiMBa

#AlrightyThen I’ll see ya tomorrow for Day 3 (<- Click here when you come back) πŸ˜‰ Again, if you have any Q’s, tweet using the tag #MTC4Days (MTC challenge: Jot down two thought words that you use, and the new feeling words you’re going to choose)

#MTC4DaysΒ Bonus: Since the #LawOfAttraction suggests that the universe deletes the ‘don’t’ & only hears the ‘want’, I use the phrase “less than” to attract what I DO want into my life (“less than HAPPY, less than POSITIVE, less than WONDERFUL, less than LOVING”)

Here are some feeling words I like to use:

LESS THAN THRILLED feeling words: baffled, agitated, distressed, frustrated, irritated, sad, hurt, disappointed, discouraged, doubtful.

TOTALLY THRILLED feeling words: Excited, Alive, Tender, Hopeful, Optimistic, Grateful, Confident, Certain, Loving, Joyful, Adventurous, Inspired, Spectacular (OLD SCHOOL: Jazzed, Stoked, Hyped), Exuberant, Exhilarated, Vivacious, Ecstatic, Vibrant, Passionate. (CLASSIC: Enthralled, Enraptured, Captivated), Phenomenal, Incredible, Magical, Extraordinary…your turn πŸ™‚

I had a difficult time filling in the three questions above. My first thought was 1: mean 2: Hard 3: Tired. So I continued reading and slowly my mind let those 3 go. Life IS good, and I needed to hear this today. πŸ™‚
